We gave Bill a list of things we wanted in our new house; workout room, office, pool, sound system, central vac, and on and on the random detailed list went. We used Bill Powell as our architect for our house that we built in 2012. Bill was very easy to work with and was patient with us as this was our first house to design and build. Bill was able to use pictures and ideas that we had to help develop style of the house. He visited the site initially to see how our ideas would fit into the neighborhood around us. As we developed the plans, Bill was accommodating when we made changes such as room sizes or window sizes. He sent us the computerized plans we needed for submission to our neighborhood association. He also visited the site a few times to check on construction with regards to his plans. We have also received many compliments on our home. After working with Bill Powell, AIA, and his clients on two fascinating projects, I wholly endorse both his architectural design style, and his ability to provide his clients with the perfect home, a home that they might not yet know they desire!
Powell's first project that I was involved with, as a designer, was the extensive remodel of a 1960's ranch styled home. The resulting contemporary home, with a master bedroom suite cantilevered over water, 16' ceilings in the great room, and an open flow, was stunning, and received numerous design awards.
I was privileged to be a part of Powell's design team on a new construction project several years later. Powell's clients were quite traditional, but wanted to transition to large, open, light filled spaces to display their extensive art, sculpture, and glass collection to best advantage. With soaring 24' ceilings, natural stone, travertine flooring, beautiful "art glass" installations, exotic granites, and terraced outdoor decks taking full advantage of a sloping site, the beautiful home is a "show stopper" on acreage in the heart of Baton Rouge, LA.
Powell's manner is extremely low-key, yet his attention to detail and knowledge of product is exceptional. Site lines are a priority for every room in a home, and Powell has mentally walked through a client's home long before construction begins.
Although Powell's clients might not know what their heart's desire in a home is at the onset of a project, Powell is able to put their wants and needs to paper, always pushing beyond what they might have originally envisioned. Julie Fuller, Julie Fuller Design

I have had the pleasure of working with Bill for over 7 years now. In my numerous experiences with Bill, a few things come to mind: Dedication to proper architecture, hands on, client satisfaction, efficient, honesty, and integrity.
Dedication to proper architecture: Whether on my own personal residence, or a client’s residence, Bill does not waiver in his commitment to architectural accuracy. He adapts to the clients’ vision and particular architectural style, and executes a phenomenal final product with every detail. I have always been impressed that he provides a final color rendering….done by hand.
Hands on: Bill is your only point of contact, thus eliminating the loss of ideas during transfer to office personnel, etc.
Client satisfaction: My wife and I were clients of Bill’s and we loved working with him throughout the process. We never had a bad meeting. I am also a luxury builder, and very picky, and he always listened to my ideas with an open mind and did whatever it took to ensure my wife and I were very happy. Every mutual client that we have had absolutely loves him, his vision, his commitment, and the final product.
Efficient: He does what he says. If something comes up, he will communicate the details with you. In my 21 years of experience, I find Bill to be one of the most efficient in his field.
As I have worked with Bill over the years, admittedly we have also become friends. I have watched him take care of his clients in a way that is unique only to Bill. He has a passion to provide only the best because he truly cares about the satisfaction of the client. This illustrates the honesty and integrity he has at his core.
